"Hi! I'm Karen for Expert Village. This can also be a great activity for children if use this plastic cording and come nice chunky beads. You’ll have to tie the knots for the kids. Again, a figure 8 knot like this. Sometimes for these big chunky beads you need to do two figure 8 knots to get enough to hold that bead in place. With this stuff you really need to pull it tight. If you're finding your knots are not holding well, they say you can dip this into boiling hot water. So, figure how long you want your bookmark to be and just give yourself a little extra to work with and cut that off. Then let the child bead anything he or she wants on that cord, and then you'll tie the next knot for them. Here's one that we've finished. You can see it's a nice project for a child. If you're busy making your own beaded bookmark, then your child can sit next to your and make a beaded bookmark for himself."
