"Hi, I'm going to talk to you now about trail damage. There is lots of different types of trail damage. There is erosion, things break on the trail, stuff can go wrong, so you need to know and be aware about it. For example, a good spot where trail damage could occur is take this mud for example, it is pretty dry but if a lot of people start walking through it, it is going to start turning it up and all these leaves will get turned under and then when rain comes down, it is just going to strip these leaves away and it is going to start eroding the trail and it is going to start ruining for everyone else and the trail maybe come closed or unaccessible or simply not hikeable because it could erode pretty badly. Another kind of trail damage is not only just erosion, but things can break often, little dams to make the water run off the trail, will break and fall down, there is various ways to repair that but we will talk about that later. But your biggest enemy is erosion. If you see a spot like this, don't walk through it, go around it, even if you have to go off trail a little bit, it is a lot better than ruining the trail. Just make sure when you go off trail, you are doing it safely and not damaging the environment."
