" Hi! I’m Moira of Beauty By Moira on behalf of expertvillage.com. I’m proceeding with the next step in my manicure. We’re soaking our hands. We’re going to work on the cuticles. We’re softening them with the oil and softening them with the water. This lady is right-handed, so we are going to let the right hand soak a little longer and we are going to work on the cuticle of the left hand. This is to help on the hangnail front. When you are at home and after you have the done the dishes and your hands have been moist, you want to gently push that cuticle back. Because the cuticle is caught on the nailbed and when your nail is growing, what happens is, the skin gets caught and your nails growing and it starts whipping off the nail. That’s where you get all these little hangnails that you have here. Can you see them? Can you see all the little hangnails? Now I am not hurting you when I am doing that. You should never press hard in this area. Everything should be where I do not hurt you. Can you see those hangnails? That’s because the little cuticle gets caught on the nail. "
