"Women especially frequently want to know what is henna hair dye. How do I get my hair dyed with henna. Henna is a wonderful substance in that it lends itself very well to the dying of hair. Usually when you go into the store and it says henna dye make sure you read the box and make sure that it actually contains henna or if that’s just the color. The word henna is frequently used to denote a rusty colored or red colored dye so it’s important if you’re trying to use real henna that that’s what you look for. The use of henna to dye hair is really simple and easy and it’s far easier if you use the henna powder as opposed to henna hair dye that you specifically buy. All you need is the henna powder and lemon juice. You mix the henna powder with the lemon juice until it forms a goopy gloppy paste then you just squish it around in your hair and cover your head with a plastic cap and leave there as long as you can stand it. The longer the better. If you can leave it for three or four hours that’s the best. When you take off the cap, rinse the henna out of your hair and condition it very well. You may not notice very striking results the first time you do this unless your hair is a very light shade like blonde. However, over time it will accumulate and you will notice your hair is lending itself better and more towards red. Someone with hair as dark as mine will still get a change with henna. It will not turn red however it will take on a reddish hue and when I’m standing in the sun you can see red highlights in it. So henna is not really used to change your hair color completely. It’s just used to lighten it a little and give it a little reddish cast. Beyond its cosmetic effect you will also notice it giving more health to your hair. It will become stronger, shiner and have more body which is equally important. "
