The next thing we're going to talk about it the open break. This is not a turn in it of itself, but it's a way that we get into a lot of turns, so this is another very important building block. We're going to show you first. From the standard basic, we've got 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, prepare on 7, open break, together. What you want to notice is we're going away from each other and coming back together. That's why it's called an open break. We're breaking open. For the ladies, nothing changes with your footwork. You just continue to do your basic. The guys are the ones that have to change their step. All you're going to do gentlemen is instead of going forward on 1 with your left foot, you're going to go back on 1 and do a regular back rock. Just footwork. We'll do the footwork together. He's doing a basic 1, 2, 3, 5, 6,together on 7 so he can change direction, and then he's going back with the left foot on 1, 2, 3. At the same time he does that, he wants to lead the girl as well, so he's going to push her away and pull her back in. A couple of things I want you to notice. We always want to give the girl some warning, a little bit of heads up of what's coming. From our basic, if the open break starts on 1, we want to let her know on 7 that something's coming. We're doing our basic 1, 2, 3, 5, 6. On 7 we drop this hand and we bring this one slightly in an up and we just look at her like are you ready, here it comes. 5, 6,7. Get ready on 7 and then we're going to push her away on 1, pull her back in, 2, together on 3. What we don't want to do here is extend the arms. We don't want to so this. 1, 2, 3. You want to keep it small. Keep the elbows bend just like the tension exercise we did earlier. The elbows stay next to your body. You push her away, pull her back in, together, without getting so far apart. Remember in a nightclub, you're not going to have a lot of space, so you don't want to be stepping on the couple behind you. Keep it small. Again, from our basic. We'll show you from the other side as well. You've got a basic 1, 2, 3, we're going to prep on 7, open break.
