"So, now I'm going to go ahead and drill mix this again. Make sure it's very well stirred. And, this time it's very important that it's very well mixed. Because, I'm going to be testing the specific gravity with this hydrometer. And, that tells me how much liquid is in this mixture. And, I've got I know that for this glaze I want it to be at about fourteen hundred on the hydrometer. So, I'll get it really well mixed and then I'll just set that in there gently and see if this bucket is deep enough. Which, it's not. So, if your bucket isn't deep enough for your hydrometer you want to get another container like a pitcher or something like that that can give you a deeper pool of glaze. And, try that again. Just set it gently and let it fall on it's own into the glaze. You can gently tap just so that the hydrometer if it's caught for a second will fall through to its natural resting place. And, when it comes to rest the way that you read the hydrometer is the meniscus which is the curve of the liquid. Wherever that hits the hydrometer is your reading. So, this says about sixteen-twenty. So, it's significantly thicker than I want. I'm going to add some more water, mix and test again."
