"Now that we have our hi-hat and our ride cymbal set up, our main ride cymbal anyway, let's look at putting up the crash cymbals. Now for the crash cymbals, I've chosen to use the same types of mounts here. I find that these don't constrict the resonance at all, and they're really ideal acoustically. I'm just going to go ahead and place the ride cymbal right there, or crash cymbal rather. And the angle that I'm going to choose, you can vary it. And of course you don't want this too tight. But this is the angle that I like. Kind of, from where I'm sitting, it's almost a ninety degree angle to my arm. So at this point, this is the cymbal I really just use for crashing. I really have the right angle I want, but I can still play the tip of the stick on there. And I can play the bell. Now what I'm using two items mounted on one cymbal stand, there could be concern about acoustic resonance. There really isn't if you can take a look at this complicated device that's over here. The reality is that this is designed to provide maximum acoustic resonance and this ball bearing type assembly down here really makes the tom hang and it doesn't restrict the resonance at all. Same thing goes with this cymbal. The cymbal is a separate assembly and it's right on. It's separated by these spacers, these foam spacers. We're really going to have no problem at all. And that's the way I like to have that crash cymbal mounted. Over here, I have an eighteen inch crash, which I also like to use as a second ride cymbal to my right. And I'm kind of booming this in, almost on another stand. And then last, but not least, I have my left side crash cymbal. Which will go right over here, slightly different assembly. But still, should cause no problems in terms of acoustic resonance. And I don't want to have it too tight. And I definitely don't want to have it sliding off there. And just about there is where I like to have it."
