Series Summary

Exercising and strength training are a great way to lose weight, build muscle and increase energy. Resistance training with resistance bands or tubing, in particular, is a great way to build lean muscle without the bulk of free weights or weight machines. Resistance bands are easy to travel with and so are great for a quick workout on the road or at the office. Exercising with resistance bands also adds variety to a workout, and increases coordination because the tension throughout the exercises helps to stabilize your body. In general, most people find exercising with resistance bands easier than with weights, even though the body cannot tell the difference and so you are still getting a great workout.

In this free fitness video series, our expert trainer will demonstrate how to use resistance band exercises to sculpt your body and enhance your current workout. She will show you a variety of workouts for arms, legs, butt and abs, all aimed at increasing muscle strength and tone. This step-by-step instructional video will help you tone your body with easy and convenient exercises all using inexpensive resistance bands. Get ready to get pumped!

"Hello, on behalf of Expert Village, my name is Unique Anderson and I'm here with X, Los, and Arvy and we're here at Energy Fitness in New York City talking about resistance band techniques. Hello ladies and gentlemen, were here today, again, at Energy Fitness in New York City to talk about resistance band training. The main thing we're going to focus on right now is the stability ball, resistance band parallel curl and the traditional resistance band curl. OK, so I've got two variations of this exercise. The first thing I'm gonna do is I'm gonna wrap this resistance band around me. He's gonna make sure that his head and his upper back are on the ball, his back is nice and parallel and his focus is on the squeeze on the bicep pass. This right here is incorporating the core and replays the motion, focuses on the deep muscles, the transverse abdominals. Also, too, we have Carlos over here showing you a basic traditional bicep curl. He's focusing on focusing on keeping his core tight, his lower back is engaged as well as focusing on the peak of that bicep head. Now, the thing is, that with resistance bands is that it gives you that resistance for the whole plane of motion, unlike dumb bells. Dumb bells, when you have them at the top, you're resting at the top and at the bottom, you're resting at the bottom. Right here, we're focusing on that resistance and that contraction through that whole plane of motion. Resistance band bicep curls baby!"
