"Hi, my name is Sheryl McGlochlin with CrazySheryl.com, and welcome to ExpertVillage.com. Today we're talking about how to enjoy the outdoors by walking and hiking, or just even walking. The first thing you want to do besides getting a checkup, making sure that you're in shape, that you've been approved by a doctor if you have not been active in the past -- that's very important. But now, you do want to make sure you stretch out. And you just kind of loosen up your body a little bit. You can just kind of move your arms around or grab your leg and just kind of stretch it out. You can just kind of slowly bend over and touch your toes and just kind of stretch out those muscles. Whenever you're walking or any kind of an exercise, it's really important to just kind of stretch out those muscles, get them warmed up a little bit before you want to go out in the cold, and you'll feel so much better. You can do that in the house. And that is how you warm up a little bit before walking."
