"Hi, this is Sean Hobson and what we're talking about right now is using the proper mechanics to be a good shooter and a good free throw shooter. Now, once you step up to the line and you've got your feet set and you're getting ready for your free throw shot, when you're preparing mentally and you're going through all those things in your head and you're visualizing your shot, one of the most important things to do is to come up with a routine. Now your routine before you shoot the free throws is very important because you don't want to come up and one time dribble twice, the next time dribble three times, one time spin the ball, the next time spin it on your finger. You don't want to change it every time because its going to take you out of a shooting rhythm. You also want to have a routine for your free throw shot that is A. not too fancy, B. doesn't take too long and doesn't distract you from the actual shot. You see people in the NBA and they're blowing kisses to their kids and they're saying hello to their Grandmother and all those things and that's all good and well when you're making five million dollars a year, but when you're playing basic basketball, you want to come up with something very simple. Step up, take a couple of dribbles, get yourself ready, spin the ball to the point that you like it or you can spin the ball then dribble it. Whatever the case may be, you want to be consistent every single time. So Hunter's going to show you what one of the simple forms looks like to get ready for a free throw. Two dribbles. He spins it. He gets it ready, he sets himself, he gets the ball ready and then he's ready to make his free throw. That's how you do it. Come up with a routine, stick to it every single time."
