"If you have a carbon fiber bike a really good thing to keep an eye on is frame damage. Carbon fiber is a little bit more susceptible to breakage on a very high impact so if you have ever had a crash or anything catastrophic has happened, inspect your frame, especially on kind of your areas that have been under the impact so what you want to do is make sure that you don't have any breakage, cracks in the clear coat or definitely no threads of that carbon coming through. If you do, chances are that frame is unsafe and it is time to replace it, depending on the manufacturer, you may have a few different options but if you have had it a while and you notice some cracks take the safe route and replace that frame because with carbon fiber you typically do not get any warning signs when it comes to breakage whereas when it comes to steel or aluminum you will have a dent or a crack and you will see it growing but with carbon fiber it will break without warning unless you have had a major impact. Check it out and make sure that it is safe. If you have any questions a bike shop professional like the ones here will be more than happy to take a look at it for you."
