"GINA KENNEDY: Dolphin pose is actually a preparatory pose for a much more advanced pose of a forearm balance. We're going to use the blocks in dolphin pose to get your arms in the proper position and to give you strength so that you can then work towards coming into your arm balance pose. So, we're going to have Faith come into tabletop. Good. And I'm going to give her a block and she's going to come down on her forearms, and she's going to place her thumbs and her first finger, the "L" of the hand, right on either side of the block. Good. If you don't have a block handy, another way to measure is to take your hands to your opposite elbow, and you'll find that that's almost exactly the same position as with the block. Good. And if you were against the wall, you could be pushing that block into the wall and feeling how that feels and also pressing down into your forearms. Good. She's going to curl her toes under. Good. And then, we're going to have Faith inhale, and as she exhales, she's going to press her tail bone up to the sky. Good. She's going to tippy toe her feet in. Good. So, the block here, we're just using to align, for proper alignment so that she can press into her arms, find shoulder strength and come into proper alignment. This also is really, really good for your posture, gives you upper back strength, upper arm strength so that you can take this even when just standing, not only in an arm balance for perfect posture."
