"Visual tin man is very important in teaching your dog to sit. Throughout the following segments I will connect a visual with a verbal to train your dog on certain commands. The tin man phrase I came up with when I first started training to illustrate the leadership posture to your dog. By tin man I like to refer to the Wizard of Oz, the Tin Man who had tall erect posture. In a dog pack the follower submissive dogs identify with the alpha leader dog strictly by posture of how the dog holds himself. When you address your dog for the, for the sit position, I want you to have erect shoulders, strong posture with the hands at your waist. This way your dog will not know as they become trained on the sit, if you have a treat or if you don't. What you'll find is as the dog ages, guests just simply have to put the hands at, at their waist and your dog will sit automatically. "
