Video Transcript

"This is Ron with Expert Village talking about how to put together a garage sale. Now the second most important part of advertising in the newspaper is to fully describe what do you have in the sale. If you just have garage sale and your address, yes some of the hardcore garage salers that go to every garage sale they will come, but most likely you're going to miss a lot of people. You want to put very specific items. If you have 100 DVD's for sale then you want to list over 100 DVD's, if you have a queen headboard that's made out of brass then you want to put queen headboard brass, maybe even put the price. List as many specific items but if you have a lot of small items don't worry about putting prices because it would be pointless. But you know put women's clothes, baby clothes. Very specific items will always draw more people to your garage sale because there might be somebody looking at the paper that will specifically want to go for that item."
