I'm Xtah, and this is how to tie a ponytail with a scarf like in the 50s. Well, first and foremost, make sure that your hair is clean and washed and conditioned because you want to try to get it as smooth as possible. One of my secrets is to use a boar hair bristle brush to make sure that it's smooth and flat. A boar hair bristle brush usually gets all that pretty smooth to be able to get back into a high ponytail. Once you get it, secure with a rubber band, then once you have that, make sure that everything is all nice back into there, take your scarf, if you need to fold it, go right ahead. If it's short, then that's right, then stick it underneath your ponytail, bring it around, tie into a knot or a double knot whichever you prefer, fluff and voila, you have a 50s ponytail.
