Hi, I'm Ava Lynne Green with Terri's Yarns and Crafts in Sevierville, Tennessee. Today, I'm going to show you how to add a simple border to a stockinette shawl. The first row of the border is just a single crochet in each stitch worked around the edge and then a single crochet in each row up the edge and I put three single crochet in each corner to make the corners lay flat. This second row around is a series of chains and single crochets. I chain three, I skip one stitch and do a single crochet, chain three, skip the next stitch and do a single crochet. The second round is basically the same thing as the first only this time you are going to chain three, do your single crochet in the next chain three space, chain three and single crochet in the next chain three space and just keep doing that all the way around. That's how you add a crochet border to a stockinette shawl. You can find directions for these projects at Terri's Yarns and Crafts.
