I'm Lorie Fangio, and I'm here today to show you how to soften an avocado using the oven. Avocados are so rich and delicious, and they add so much to really any dish that you're preparing. I know I love to put them in my salads, and even serve them by themselves sometimes as a side dish. But when I have avocados that are too hard, and I need to ripen one quickly, I can use simply a sheet of foil and my oven, and make it happen in about 10 minutes. So all I want to do is take my avocado that's really too firm, and I just want to wrap it up in the foil, like this, and I want to set my oven to about 200 degrees. I'm gonna put my avocado in the oven and just let it be in there for about 10 minutes, and when I pull it out, it will be nice and soft, and ready to cut and serve.
