This is Stephany with Elevate Fitness, and today we're going to talk about doing lunges with a curl bar. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to take the curl bar, bring it over my head and rest it just below my trap muscles, so right by the shoulder. A lot of people get annoyed with the angle of the curl bar kind of pressing down into the shoulders so I put it just below the traps right by the shoulders and remember whenever you grab a bar you want to make sure that you bend over. You don't want to go into a standing position because you can completely pull out your back doing that movement. So bending at the knees kind of like I'm doing a squat, keep your abs tight. You want to grab the bar, bring it overhead and then I'm going to do a reverse lunge. What I do is I step back, bending at the knees, you want to make sure that it's 90 degrees on that front knee and don't let the knee go in front of the ankle or the foot. So you can step back, slightly bend that back knee, keep your abs tight, keep your chest up, back straight, push off of the heel whenever you are doing the movement and you can repeat. So abs tight, bending 90 degrees at the knee, making sure that it doesn't go in front of the foot or the ankle and then repeating the movement. This is Stephany with Elevate Fitness and we just talked about doing lunges with the curl bar, get lifted.
