TV Characters Dress Up Ideas
Dressing up as TV character for a party is a fun way to pay homage to your favorite TV shows and indulge yourself by wearing a costume that is unlike your own personality. As Buffy The Vampire Slayer said about Halloween, "It's come as you aren't night." Whether it's Halloween or a Famous TV Moms theme party, the point is to have fun and find the costume right for you. Does this Spark an idea?

Peggy Hill
-
Whether she's accidentally mangling simple Spanish words like "llamo" or worrying about her abnormally large feet, Peggy Hill from the long-running animated sitcom "King of the Hill" is a memorable TV character and an ideal costume choice for women looking for a simple costume option. Peggy's trademark green, sleeveless shirt, high-waisted jeans ("mom" jeans), bouffant hairdo and 1980s-style glasses will be recognizable to anyone who has seen the show, although you might want to mispronounce "por favor" a few times to help sell the costume.
Radioactive Man
-
Mixing together elements of The Flash, Shazam and Superman, Radioactive Man is The Simpsons' comical take on the costumed superhero and will amuse both those who get the reference and those who just see a funny costume. Radioactive Man's mask resembles Homer Simpson sporting a red helmet with a thunderbolt sticking out of it, which should help others identify that you are wearing a Simpsons costume since Homer's face is so distinctive.

Dr. Venture
-
One of the most popular characters on Adult Swim's "The Venture Bros.," Dr. Rusty Venture is a former "boy adventurer" (think Johnny Quest) who grew up to be a failed scientist living in the shadow of his famous father. While "The Venture Bros." features several characters, like Dr. Killinger and Dr. Orpheus, who are ideal costume fodder; Dr. Venture's costume is both distinctive and cheap to put together. Check your local thrift store or Salvation Army for Dr. Venture's 1970s pastel pink speedsuit (pastel blue is also acceptable) and then round up a bald cap, fake red goatee and black eyeglasses to complete your costume.
Xena: Warrior Princess
-
Xena: Warrior Princess was a successful TV show often pitched as campy fun and is popular enough in re-runs and on DVD that Xena's outfit is still a costume party staple. The Xena costume, all leather and revealing without being graphic, is a parody of the skimpy outfits worn by heroines in movies like "Conan The Barbarian" and "The Beastmaster." The Xena costume is best suited for indoor parties; it doesn't cover very much, which might get uncomfortable if you are outdoors.
