Enjoy your family reunion even more with games.

Often the best family reunions involve the most entertaining activities that help everyone get reacquainted. During your next family reunion, bring everyone together and let everyone pick up where they left off with some family games. You can create cherished memories that will sustain the family until the next reunion. Does this Spark an idea?

  1. Getting to Know You

    • Gather the family together and hand each person a piece of paper. Tell them to write down information about themselves that hardly anyone knows. They can write down something like "I have been to 10 Star Trek conventions" or "I sailed to Peru in 1980." Collect all the papers and read each one. As you read them off, everyone writes down who they think wrote them. The person with the most correct guesses wins.

    Who's That?

    • When inviting relatives to the reunion, ask them to bring one or two photos of themselves at a younger age. Once you have all the photos, place them on the walls of your party space. Everyone walks around viewing the pictures and writing down who each person is in each photo. The person with the most correct answers wins the game.

    Beach Ball of Questions

    • Write down several questions on a beach ball. Use questions like "What is your favorite movie?" and "Have you ever been outside of the country?" Assemble the family members into a sitting circle. Hand one of the players the ball. He throws the ball to anyone in the circle. Whoever catches the ball has to answer the question covered by her right thumb. Keep playing until you have all each answered a few questions.

    Family Scavenger Hunt

    • Write down a list of characteristics such as "green eyes" or "enjoys scary movies." Hand each family member the list and tell them to search for these characteristics in their relatives. Once a player finds someone with has green eyes, for example, he checks that characteristic off his list. The person who checked off the most characteristics wins the game.
