Commonly referred to as S4H on pages dealing with digital scrapbooking ideas and products, S4H is an abbreviation for "Scrap for Hire." When you see the S4H abbreviation it means that the product, for example a page layout, digital element or digital paper, is for sale. Digital scrapbook designers usually offer S4H products to one customer as opposed to many customers.
S40 in Digital Scrapbooking

If a designer is creating a design or designs that are intended for many clients, such as a generic scrapbook page layout or an element that may interest many people, the design would be considered an S40 product, or one that is intended for commercial use.

Scope of the S40 Commercial Use License

By purchasing a design from the artist under an S40 license agreement, the retailer agrees to a limited professional use of the license as spelled out by the artist. This means the artist gives the retailer the right to use his designs for a specified time and may not include the actual products themselves.
Designer's Terms of Use

Designers have their own personal or commercial Terms of Use (TOU) for their products, and each design is usually copyrighted by the artist. The designer's TOU can be changed at any time, and she doesn't have to give prior notice. It is up to the customer to check for updates and changes in the designer's TOU. Customers can usually find a designer's TOU license on the website with her products.
