Can I Link My LinkedIn Profile on My Web Page?
A social network for business professionals, LinkedIn lets you connect with others within your field of work. The network requires you to create a profile listing your occupation, areas of interest and other professional information. Your profile contains its own website address, and you can place a link to your LinkedIn profile on your own personal website. Linking your LinkedIn profile to your personal website provides visitors with additional information about you and your contacts.

Accessing LinkedIn Links
-
To access ready-to-copy links containing HyperText Markup Language code for your LinkedIn profile, navigate your computer's Internet browser to your LinkedIn profile. Then navigate your browser to the "Promote Your Profile by Adding a Badge to Your Blog, Online Resume, or Website" link (linkedin.com/profile/profile-badges?go back). A listing of LinkedIn icons and the HTML code for each one will appear.
Selecting and Copying HTML Code
-
Decide which LinkedIn icon you want to use on your website and highlight the HTML code next to the icon with your mouse. Press and hold the "Ctrl" key on your computer's keyboard. Then press the "C" key to copy the code, if using Windows. If using a Mac, press and hold the "Command" key and press the "C" key to copy the code.
-
Inserting HTML Code
-
Open the application you used to create your website. Then open your website's file. Navigate to the area where you want to place the LinkedIn icon and place your cursor on the area. Enter the application's HTML code entry screen via the main toolbar at the top of the screen, press and hold the "CTRL" or "Command" key, then press the "V" key to paste the code. Save your website's file, then click "Publish" or similar wording to upload your website.
Testing the Links
-
Once your personal website uploads, navigate your browser to your website and click the LinkedIn icon to check the link. Your LinkedIn profile will load. Check your profile for any errors or information that is out of date. Click "Profile," then click "Edit Profile" to make any corrections, if necessary. If your LinkedIn profile doesn't load, return to the application used to create your website and check that the LinkedIn code was pasted into the HTML code entry screen properly.
