How to Put Who You Are in a Relationship With on Facebook When Your Boyfriend Isn't on Facebook

If you are among the 750 million people worldwide who are a member of Facebook, you might want to let people know that you are in a relationship with your boyfriend by disclosing this information in your Facebook profile, even if your boyfriend isn't on Facebook. When you select the "In a Relationship" option in the "Relationship Status" section of your Facebook profile, there is a "With" text field next to the "Relationship Status" pull-down menu in which you can type the name of your boyfriend. If he is a member. Facebook will send him a request to approve the relationship and then keep his link in the "With" text field after approval. If your boyfriend isn't on Facebook, simply type his name and your relation to him in the "About Me" section.

Instructions

1. Sign into your Facebook account.

2. Click "Edit My Profile" at the top of the page.

3. Click "Friends and Family" on the left side of the page.

4. Click the "Relationship Status" pull-down menu, and then click "In a Relationship." Click "Save Changes."

5. Type your boyfriend's name into the box under "In a relationship." Click "Save Changes." The sentence indicating the name of the person with whom you are in a relationship now appears directly above the "In a Relationship" part of the "Basic Information" section of your profile.
