How to Do Bubble Letters for Kids
Drawing bubble letters is a fun, creative activity suitable for all ages. Leading children in drawing with bubble letters can serve as an inexpensive way to create banners in celebration of birthdays, retirements or other celebrations. Relaying the technique of creating bubble letters of any size to kids is a task that they can easily replicate. Children will enjoy the artistic freedom of coloring the bubble letters in shades and designs of their own choosing.

- Banner paper
- Pencils
- Ruler
- Pencil eraser
- Permanent marker
- Colored markers
- Glitter glue (optional)

Using pencil to allow for mistakes, draft location of the bubble letters on the banner paper. When creating a banner to commemorate an event, develop a standard measurement for all of the letters. Mark these spots with the aid of pencil and the ruler.

Draw the shape of the bubble letters out of overlapping ovals and circles. Each side of a given letter will be comprised of a rounded shape which overlaps with the shapes of the adjacent sides. Sketch these bubble letters in lightly to facilitate corrective erasing if necessary.

Adjust the bubble letters until they have reached a satisfactorily round, but still recognizable final shape. Finalize the letters with a firm pencil outline. Cover the pencil outline of the bubble letters with permanent marker. Erase any excess pencil, such as where the drafting shapes overlapped.

Guide the children in decorating the bubble letter outlines with markers and glitter. If desired, demonstrate an artful technique of drawing a light line along one side of all of the letters, to mimic the appearance of light reflecting on a round surface.
