How Do I Unfriend on the New Facebook Layout?

How Do I Unfriend on the New Facebook Layout? thumbnail
Unfriending someone takes effect immediately.

Facebook friends are the people who generally have the most access to your profile, and the only people allowed to post to your wall. If you no longer want another user to be allowed to write on your profile or see the information only granted to friends, unfriending her takes just seconds. Once you unfriend a user, one of you must initiate a brand new friend request to restore the friendship. At the time of publication, the newest incarnation of the Facebook layout allows you to unfriend someone in two ways.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the "Account" link at the top of any Facebook screen. Select "Edit Friends" from the drop-down menu.

    • 2

Click on the "x" next to a friend's name, then "Remove from Friends" to unfriend her.

    • 3

Unfriend someone directly from her profile by clicking on her name, either in your friend list or next to one of her posts on the site.

    • 4

Scroll to the bottom of her "Friends" list, which runs vertically down the left side of the page and click the "Unfriend" link. Click "Remove from Friends" when prompted.
