Low-income families and those who have limited funds for nutritious food may be eligible to receive food stamps benefits from the State of Kentucky. The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program, or SNAP, deposits monthly benefits into individual accounts accessible through an electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card and a personal identification number. You can check your balance prior to purchasing your food. If you go over the total benefits available to you for the month, the entire purchase will be declined.

Call the EBT Customer Service number at 888-979-9949. Select your language preference, then enter your EBT card number followed by your PIN number. Listen for the prompt that offers your account balance.

Check your benefits online. Visit the JPMorganChase EBT Account website. Select the "Click Here To Register" link. Agree to the site's terms and conditions by clicking "Accept" at the bottom of the page. Enter your EBT card number located on the front of your card, enter your PIN number in the text field and click "Continue." Create a user ID and password, then click "Login." The website will list your food stamps balance and cash aid balance, if applicable to you.

Check the store receipt from when you last used the card. Your available food stamps benefits is listed as "EBT F/S Balance" below the total amount on your receipt.

Visit an ATM machine. Swipe the EBT card. Enter your PIN number. Your balance will be displayed on the screen.
