Any doll collector will tell you that dolls are not just for little girls. Collections range from store-bought to handmade dolls. Dolls are made from a variety of materials, including ceramic, fabric and paper. For people desiring to make their own dolls, paper dolls are by far the least expensive and troublesome to create. Unlike most dolls, you can make paper dolls without a sewing machine or kiln. Children and adults alike can deviate from the traditional two-dimensional paper doll by making 3D paper dolls.
Things You'll Need
- Digital 3D paper doll template
- Card stock
- Fine-tip markers
Download a 3D paper doll template and print onto card stock.
Color a black and white template with fine-tip markers. If the template is in color, use the markers to add details if desired.
Cut the doll out along the solid lines. Do not cut on dotted lines.
Fold along dotted lines.
Apply glue to tabs. Pair up the tabs using corresponding numbers or letters on the tabs. Press the appropriate tabs together and hold several seconds for glue to set. Allow to dry.
