How Do I Get a Darkrai in "Diamond"?
In the "Pokemon" series, Darkrai is a legendary Pokemon that delivers nightmares to those around it. This pure Dark-type Pokemon comes with partial resistance to Ghost- and Dark-type attacks, as well as immunity to Psychic-type moves. In addition, its high speed and special attack attributes are complemented by damaging moves, such as Dark Pulse, and status-impairing attacks, such as Dark Void. To get a Darkrai in "Pokemon Diamond," you must travel to Newmoon Island.

Receive the Member Card item from a Nintendo Event. Nintendo posts details about upcoming events on the official "Pokemon" website. Alternatively, enter the following Action Replay code to obtain the Member Card: 94000130 FCFF0000B21C4D28 00000000B0000004 000000000000AA3C EDB883202000AA68 00000008D2000000 00000000. After entering the code, push "L" and "R" while at a Pokemon Center to make a man in green appear. He will give you the Member Card item.

Travel to Canalave City, which is located in western Sinnoh.

Visit the inn on the northeast side of the city.

Talk to the innkeeper to rent a bed. He will tell you that he has held a reservation for you for a long time.

Fall asleep in the bed. When you wake up, you will be on Newmoon Island.

Go north into the wooded area. Darkrai will be waiting for you in the middle of a pond. Engage the Pokemon in battle.

Hit Darkrai with damaging attacks to lower its health. When its health bar is red, deal it a status-impairing move, such as Hypnosis, to leave it vulnerable. Darkrai is at Level 40, so expect it to fight back. Fight it with a Pokemon of equal strength.

Throw Ultra Balls until you capture Darkrai.

Tips & Warnings
Don't waste your Master Ball on Darkrai. Although Darkrai is a legendary Pokemon, you should reserve the item for creatures that are harder to obtain.
Darkrai is weak to Fighting- and Bug-type attacks, so use those elements to lower its health.
Darkrai's natural ability, Bad Dreams, will cause sleeping foes to lose additional health on each turn. Use an Awakening item to keep your Pokemon from falling asleep while battling the legendary Pokemon.
After you capture Darkrai, use Technical Machines to teach it a variety of attacks, such as Toxic (a Poison-type attack), Thunder (an Electric-type attack) or Rock Slide (a Rock-type attack). Aim to give your Pokemon a diverse moveset.
