How to Decorate Bridal Wishing Wells
Traditionally, wedding gifts were intended to help the bride and groom set up house together. However, as the average age of newlyweds rises, many brides and grooms have been living on their own for several years and already have towels and toasters. Therefore, money and gift cards have become popular wedding gifts. A wedding wishing well at the reception helps guests give such gifts to the bride and groom. Decorate your wishing well with your wedding colors and flowers to make it a seamless addition to your decor.

1
Tie a wide satin ribbon around the wishing well. Pick a color that coordinates with the rest of the reception decorations. There are many ways to decorate a wishing well, but securing the ribbon with an elegant bow is a classic starting point.

2
Drape a length of garland over the top or around the outer lip of your wishing well. Use floral wire to hold it in place. Make the garland from the same type of greenery used in your wedding bouquet. For example, ivy and baby's breath are easy to shape into garlands. You can even attach some matching flowers to the garland. For additional detail, tie ornaments such as wedding bells or glass baubles onto the garland using floral wire.

Transport your pew bows from the wedding site to the reception venue if you want to give them a second life as wishing well decorations. Pew bows look striking on wishing wells, particularly if they are made from the same ribbon that is wrapped around the well's circumference. To attach pew bows to the wishing well, wire one around each supporting pole with floral wire. Secure the bows as close to the base of the poles as you can, and re-fluff the fabric.

4
Place your wedding bouquet into the wishing well's bucket for a charming finish. To allow the flowers to fill the bucket more fully, undo the bouquet fastening and spread the stems out within the bucket.

Tips & Warnings
It is never polite to ask for money, so don't include a request for money in your wedding invitations. Instead, ask your maid of honor and family members to inform curious guests that you would enjoy monetary gifts. Some guests may still prefer to give you handpicked presents. These, too, should be received with thanks and graciousness.
