How to Decorate a Pumpkin as Cinderella
In the fairy tale of Cinderella, Cinderella's fairy godmother makes a carriage out of a pumpkin with a magic spell. You can decorate your pumpkin to look like an enchanted carriage. Decorate your porch or display table with other items that go along with the Cinderella theme. You can use a clear plastic dress shoe to represent her lost glass slipper and fake mice to represent the mice that were transformed into a team of horses for her carriage. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Black marker
- Ruler
- Pumpkin saw tool
- Large spoon
- White acrylic craft paint
- Paint brush
- White craft glue
- Gold or bronze braid
- Cardboard
- Gold thumbtacks
- Plastic horse
- Gold string

Paint the exterior of the pumpkin with white acrylic paint. Wait one hour for the paint to dry. Draw a door that is 2 inches wide and 4 inches long onto the center of the pumpkin with a black marker. Draw two 1 inch by 2 inch windows that are 1 inch away from the right and left sides of the door. Position the windows so that they are even with the center of the door.

Cut out the stem of the pumpkin with a pumpkin saw tool and set it aside. Scoop out the meat and seeds of the pumpkin with a large spoon. Cut out the door and windows.

Glue gold or bronze braid around the perimeter of the door and windows. While you are waiting for the glue to dry, cut two 3-inch-diameter circles out of the cardboard. Draw evenly spaced spokes on the interior of the circle. Leave a space that is 1/2 inch wide around the perimeter for the rim of the wheel and draw pizza slice shapes around the interior of the circle, leaving 1/2 inch between each shape. Cut out the pizza slice shapes to make the wheel spokes. Paint the cardboard wheels white.

Attach the wheels to the sides of the pumpkin with gold thumbtacks. Place a plastic horse in front of the carriage. Tie the center of the gold string around the horse's muzzle. Move the ends back and attach them to the side of the pumpkin with thumbtacks to create the reins.
