How to Uninstall Controller Mate

Controller Mate is a program developed for the Mac operating system that gives the user more control over gaming devices. With Controller Mate, you can program the buttons on your game controller to better suit your needs by mapping specific keyboard commands to certain buttons. If you have installed Controller Mate, and decide that you no longer need it, you can uninstall it from your system. In order to do this, you must manually delete a few files from your computer.

  • Turn on your Mac and let the operating system fully load before attempting to uninstall Controller Mate. Once the computer is up and running, click on the "Finder" and open up your applications folder which contains the application files for all of your programs. Find the folder labeled "Controller Mate" and open it.

  • Click on the Controller Mate icon and drag it from the folder to the "Trash." A message will appear asking "Are You Sure You Want to Delete this Item?" Click on the "Yes" button and you will see a status bar showing the process of deletion. Wait for this bar to reach 100 percent.

  • Click on the "Finder" button and then click on "File." Click on "Find" in the menu that appears. When the search window appears, type in "Controller Mate" into the search field and click on the check box that is labeled "Search for Invisible Folders." Click "Search" when all is entered.

  • Drag every item and folder that is associated with Controller Mate that appears in the search window into the "Trash" in order to remove them from your system. Dragging the program to the "Trash" will uninstall it, but you must delete any items that remain such as saved settings to completely remove it from your system.
