Rhapsody is an online music subscription service and software program that allows you to download music to your computer. Sometimes, you may have trouble signing in to the service, or have issues when you try connecting to the Rhapsody servers. Troubleshoot these problems by running the latest version of the software program and by modifying the connection settings in Internet Explorer.
Check to make sure you are running the latest version of the Rhapsody software if you get a message saying "Network error," "You could not be signed in" or "Server error." Download the latest version of the player from the Rhapsody website and install it on your computer. Restart your computer and open Rhapsody again. Check that the player is allowed through your computer's firewall.
Open Internet Explorer if the "Download components filed" or "No internet connection detected" message appears when you sign in to or install Rhapsody. Click the "Tools" menu, select "Internet Options" and select the "Security" tab. Move the slider to "Medium" in the "Security level for this zone" section. Click the "Default Level" button if the slider cannot be moved. Select the "Privacy" tab and move the slider in the "Settings" section to "Medium." Click the "Default" button if the slider cannot be moved.
Click the "Sites" button. Highlight "real.com," "Listen.com," "llnwd.net," "rhapapp.real.com," "rhap://rhapapp.real.com," and "rhap://rhap-app-4-0.real.com" if they are listed under "Managed Websites" and click "Remove." Select "OK" and select the "Connections" tab. Select the "Lan Settings" tab and check "Automatically Detect Settings" if you use a proxy server. Select "OK."
