How to Resize Cells in Excel 2007

Microsoft Excel's default cell size is typically designed with numbers in mind, as they are small and can be quickly entered. If you need to enter something longer, such as a name or a phrase, the contents of the cell disappear behind the other cells once it passes its size, even though the content is not changed or erased. Fortunately, you can resize the cells if you need their content to be displayed fully.

  • Click on the cell(s) from the columns you want resized.

  • Click on the "Home" ribbon, and then click "Format" in the "Cells" group.

  • Click the "Width" option in the "Cell Size" graph that appears.

  • Type the length you would like the cells to be in the box that appears.

  • Click "OK" to resize the cells.
