How to Type Spanish Accents Online

How to Type Spanish Accents Online thumbnail
Windows computers allow users to change the keyboard layout to include accent marks.

Accent marks are a key feature of the written Spanish language, but it's not obvious how to type them on a standard keyboard. People typing online in Spanish need to know how to produce accent marks; if the marks are simply omitted, their Spanish will look uneducated and inaccurate. Computers using Windows have a built-in feature that makes it simple to type with accent marks.

Type accent marks online. Go to any website that allows text input. Type an accented vowel by pressing the ( ' ) key and then an "a." You'll see that the character (á) appears on-screen. The ( ' ) character plus any vowel will produce accented vowels: á, é, í, ó, ú. You can use the same technique to produce accented uppercase vowels: Á, É, Í, Ó, Ú.
