You can share your photos with the world by displaying them on a photo-sharing site.

So you've taken a gorgeous photo and want to share it with the world? The Internet seems like the perfect medium to share a photo, but how exactly can you go about it? There are many user-friendly, free photo-sharing sites where you can display your photos. One of the top photo-sharing sites is Flickr, with more than 5 billion photos hosted as of September 2010, making it an excellent place to display your photos.

Instructions

      Visit the Flickr website, and click "Create Your Account." This provides three options: using a Yahoo account, a Facebook account or a Google account. If you don't have any of these, click "Create a New Account" under the caption "Don't have a Yahoo ID," fill out the required fields and click "Create my Account." On the next page, click "Continue." Enter your chosen Flickr user name, and click "Create My Account."

      Click the "Upload" button located at the end of the top navigation bar on the home page that loads.

      Click "Choose photos and videos," and select the photo on your computer you want to upload. If you want to upload several photos, click "Add More" on the Flickr upload form. When you have selected all the photos you want to upload, select the privacy settings you want for your photos, and click "Upload Photos and Videos."

      Wait for the photos to upload and the upload bar to disappear, then click "Add a Description." Add a title, description and tags related to your photo to help people find it. Click "Save."

Tips & Warnings

  • There is an upload limit of 300 MB per month for photos.

  • Photos must not be larger than 15 MB.

  • Do not upload copyrighted or illegal photos. This may cause your Flickr account to be deleted without warning.
