How to Turn Off Jawbone

Jawbone is a brand of Bluetooth headset for hands-free calling using your mobile phone. Some models offer a sleek, simplistic design that eliminates all externally visible buttons. This design might leave you confused as to what to push to turn the headset off. While Jawbone makes multiple headsets, they all turn off one of two ways. So once you figure out the method for your model, the rest is simple.

Models with On/Off Switch

  • Examine the exterior surface of your Jawbone. Some models have a very small switch that works as the on/off switch. In these models, this is the same switch you press forward for three seconds to pair the headset with your phone.

  • Move the position of the switch, assuming the device is currently on. This should turn your headset off.

  • Examine the headset to ensure the LED light is off. If the light is still on, so is the headset. If you're still having trouble, consult your owner's manual for instructions specifically written for your headset.

Models Without On/Off Switch

  • Examine the exterior of your Jawbone. If you don't see a switch with an "On" and "Off" position, your Jawbone model has hidden buttons.

  • Locate the "Talk" button you normally press to accept a call. Hold the button down until you hear an indication that the device is powering down. The amount of time you have to hold the button varies between two and three seconds.

  • Examine your Jawbone to ensure the LED light is off. If it's still on, consult your Jawbone's manual for instructions specific to your model.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you can't find the manual that came with your Jawbone, the company's website has downloadable PDF versions of the manuals for all of their available headsets.
