Goat's milk is high in protein and triglycerides as well as vitamins A, B-6, B-12 and E. This makes it desirable as both a drink and cheese. Goat's milk also is a good foundation for soap and skin lotion. You can make your own goat's milk lotion at home with fresh raw goat's milk, cold pressed oil and a few other ingredients; the hardest part may be finding all the ingredients you need. Things You'll Need

  • 1 1/2 tbsp. beeswax
  • 2 tbsp. pumpkin seed oil
  • 2 tbsp. palm oil
  • 3 tbsp. almond oil
  • 1 tbsp. apricot oil
  • 1 cup warm goat's milk
  • 1 tsp. vitamin E oil
  • 1/2 cup aloe vera gel
  • 1/8 tsp. white vinegar
  • Small saucepan
  • Wooden spoon
  • Blender

Instructions

      Melt 1 1/2 tbsp. beeswax and 2 tbsp. palm oil in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon until smooth.

      Add 2 tbsp. pumpkin seed oil, 3 tbsp. almond oil and 1 tbsp. apricot oil to the saucepan and stir frequently until thoroughly mixed.

      In another saucepan or small pot, warm 1 cup of fresh goat's milk over low-medium heat on the stove until heated through. Pour the beeswax-and-oil mixture into a blender. Slowly add warm goat's milk and blend until mixture begins to thicken. Add 1 tsp. vitamin E oil and continue blending until all the goat's milk is mixed in. Allow mixture to cool to room temperature.

      Add 1/2 cup aloe vera gel and 1/8 tsp. white vinegar to cooled mixture and blend one more time until all ingredients are well mixed.

      Pour finished lotion into a hand-pump bottle and use within 6 months, as that is the shelf life of the lotion with the natural preservative white vinegar mixed in.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add a few drops of essential oil, such as lavender, to give a fragrant aroma to your homemade goat's milk lotion.
