How to Erase Chat History in MSN

Microsoft's instant messaging program has gone through many changes over the years. Although the current version is known as Windows Live Messenger, it was once known as MSN Messenger and many users continue to call it that. One of the program's features is the ability to save chat history for reference at a later date. However, you may wish to clear this history to protect sensitive information or retain privacy, especially on public or shared computers.

Instructions

1. Double-click on the contact for whom you wish to erase your chat history on your buddy list to open the message window.

2. Click "View Conversation History" to open the history.

3. Click the "Erase History" button from the top menu. Click "Yes" to confirm that you want to delete your chat history.
