How to Hook Up Two Computers to Share a Dial Up Internet Connection
While modern DSL providers supply DSL routers that your computers connect to, when sharing a dial up Internet connection, the process differs. If you are using dial up Internet access, then the modem will typically be internally installed in your computers. To share a dial up connection between two computers, you will need to connect the computers with an Ethernet cable.

Connect the Ethernet cable to both computers' Ethernet jacks.

Turn both computers on. After they have started up, both will detect the other network device.

On the computer that connects to the Internet, click "Start > Control Panel." Type "adapter" in the search field. Click "View network connections."

Right-click your dial up connection, click "Properties." Enter your password and then press "Enter." Click "Sharing," then "Allow other network users...." Click "OK." The other computer will now be able to connect to the Internet via the host computer.
