How to Look Into My Registry in Windows XP

The Windows XP registry contains the system configuration information, including user profiles, information about the software installed on the computer and the hardware configuration. The registry consists of a hierarchy of keys, subkeys and values. You can view and edit the registry by using the "Registry Editor" utility. Microsoft recommends that you change system settings through the Windows user interface, rather than changing the settings through the registry, if possible. If you change the registry incorrectly, you may cause problems that can only be resolved by reinstalling the operating system.
