How to Install a Compressed Air Line

Compressed air lines that are used with your air compressor can be installed on the inside of a wall or attached to the outside, depending on your configuration. Installing the air lines on the outside of the wall is preferred if the garage or workshop walls are finished. To complete this project, determine where the air compressor will be located and where to place the outlets for the compressed air lines. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Cut the rubber tubing with the supplied cutter or use a utility knife. Push the cut end of the tubing into a fitting. Twist the tubing as you press it into the fitting. Once the tubing is inserted into the fitting, give it a pull to verify that it is secured properly.

    • 2

Insert one end of the tubing with the connector into a valve that is on the manifold assembly. If you are not using a manifold assembly, connect the tubing to an outlet on the air compressor.

    • 3

Run the rubber tubing along the wall. Place a wall mount clip over a stud on the wall and secure it with screws using the power drill. Run the tubing to the location for the first outlet.

    • 4

Insert the fitting on the end of the rubber tubing into one end of a "T" fitting. Secure the "T" fitting to the wall with a bracket and screws using the power drill.

    • 5

Attach another section of hose to the other end of the "T" fitting and run it to the location for the second outlet.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 3 through 6 on a second valve on the manifold assembly or a second outlet that is on the air compressor.

Tips & Warnings

  • The outlets for the compressed air need to be located as close to the air compressor as possible.
