How to Install Four Italian Air Horns
Many vehicles come from the factory with meek horns that all sound the same. Installing an aftermarket air horn can ensure that you are heard and separate you from the pack. Air horns are available in all types, from single horn to multi-horn to the incredibly loud Italian four-horn version. Most air horns have separate compressors and switches, but the latest Italian versions are completely self-contained and, therefore, much easier to install.

1
Open the hood and detach the battery so you are not working with live wires. Find your current car horn. This will be a small round disc, in most cases mounted near the front of the engine on the wall of the engine compartment. Check your manual to find the location.

2
Remove the positive wire from your current horn. Split this wire into four separate leads, using two wire splitters. Connect these wires to the power lead wires on your new air horns using wire connectors.

Find a suitable location for your new horns, preferably near the front of the engine compartment where there is free space. Drill the required holes to mount your new horns, following the installation instructions specific to your model. During installation, make sure the horns themselves are facing toward the front of the car. Wrap the ground wires for the new horns around their respective installation screws and tighten them, using your screw gun. Repeat this process for all four horns.
-
4
Run your power wire along existing wire paths, using zip ties to hold it fast to other bundles. Make sure the wiring is clear of hot spots and does not interfere with moving parts.
-
5
Read your new horns' manual and check the amperage required. Check this amperage against the fuse currently installed in your car for the horn. If the new horns require more power than your fuse can handle, you may want to install a larger fuse to match. If your horn fuse carries other circuits with it, do not increase the load. Test the horn.

Tips & Warnings
If your horns do not work, you may have installed the power and ground wires in reverse. Switch them and try again.
If your horns still do not work, you may have to install a capacitor.
Be sure to mount your new horns out of the way of all moving parts where they cannot damage anything.
