The Location of the Control Module Keypad on a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer

A screwdriver can be used to expose your Mercury keypad module.

Keyless entry systems have become common features on cars all around the world, and these systems work with wireless remotes and keypad modules. While your remote can be added to your keychain and kept in your pocket, the control module is installed in your 2003 Mercury Mountaineer underneath your dashboard. You can locate the module by removing your dash panels to access the system in minutes.

Things You'll Need

• Flathead screwdriver

Instructions

1. Locate the dashboard panel just below and to the left of the stereo and air conditioning controls. The keyless system module is located just underneath this.

2. Locate the screws on the corners of this dashboard panel and remove them with a screwdriver.

3. Use a flathead screwdriver to wedge underneath the side of the dashboard panel and pop the panels off gently.

4. Locate the black box underneath with wires connecting to your positive battery terminal. This is your keyless module system.
