How to Marry Lady Grey in "Fable"
"Fable" prided itself on combining traditional computer role-playing mechanics with life-sim elements, such as purchasing a house and marrying a wife. You can marry nearly any woman in the game, but as a rule of thumb, named characters can not be married. For the most part, you can only wed the nameless, generic women found in villages, and there are dozens to choose from. The one exception to this is Lady Grey, the powerful ruler of Bowerstone. She might not be the most wholesome character in the game, but you'll get a lot of money and prestige by marrying her.

Enter the arena and best everyone there. The arena is north of Knothole Glade, past the Witchwood Lake.

Return to Bowerstone, which is immediately north of your headquarters. Walk up the stairs to enter North Bowerstone. You'll won't be able to enter North Bowerstone until you win the arena battle.

Visit the item shop and purchase a black rose. Black is Lady Grey's favorite color.

Continue down the road and enter Lady Grey's garden. You'll find her waiting under the streetlamp. Give her the rose. She'll be impressed, but won't commit until you prove your stability by owning a house.

Purchase a house. If you already own one, you'll have to buy another -- the trigger to complete this quest is only satisfied when you purchase a house. After you buy a house, return to Lady Grey. She'll assign you a new quest: find her necklace.

Roam around Bowerstone and speak with everyone who has a green dot over his head. Each one will give you a clue about the necklace or a bit of background on Lady Grey's shady past. Once you've spoken with all the green dot people, return to Lady Grey. She'll send you to Oakvale to continue your search.

Travel to Oakvale and enter the cemetery. You'll meet two traders who know the location of the necklace, but refuse to tell you. Eavesdrop on them by standing behind the nearby tree, and wait for them to whisper to each other. They'll say the necklace is buried between two nearby boats.

Go to the boats and sift through the rocks between them. You'll find the necklace.

Give the necklace to Lady Grey. She's still not ready to commit, and she wants you to kill another of her suitors, Thunder. Find him in the Bowerstone Prison, northeast of town. He'll challenge you to meet at Hangman's Hill. Continue northeast to meet him there.

Repeatedly use Assassin's Rush on Thunder to get at his back, where he's vulnerable. He's strong but slow -- evade his attacks and always stay to his rear. Once he's dead, take his helmet and give it to Lady Grey. She'll agree to marry you.
