Instructions

    • 1

Cut a 10-inch by 4-inch oval from the red card stock. Cut a 4-inch-high strip of red card that is long enough to wrap around this oval and have 1 inch spare.

    • 2

Lightly draw a horizontal straight line 1 inch from the bottom of this strip of card. Fold along the line. Every 2 inches, draw a 1-inch-high triangle in this folded section. The base of the triangles should be at the edge of the card and the point of the triangles should meet the fold. Cut all these triangles out.

    • 3

Wrap the strip into an oval the same size as your card-stock oval. Paste glue on the last 1 inch of one end and stick it to the other end, so you have an oval ring. Paste glue onto the folded-over, 1-inch segments and stick the oval-shaped card on top of the ring. Leave to dry. This is your hat.

    • 4

Wear your white shirt, red skirt and red jacket. Tie the red neck scarf around your neck. Put on the white high heels.

    • 5

Brush all your hair back and twist it into a tight bun. Secure it in place with hairgrips, then spray with hairspray.

    • 6

Apply a thick layer of face powder. Line your eyes with eyeliner and add two coatings of mascara. Paint your lips with the glossy red lipstick. Put your hat on your head at a jaunty angle and secure it in place with a few hairgrips.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can choose a different color to red, but your outfit must still match.

  • If you're posing for photos at your fancy-dress party, point as though you are giving a safety demonstration.
