Lenovo T500 Instructions

The Lenovo ThinkPad T500 is a built-to-order notebook computer. Lenovo lets you configure the T500 to your specific needs. Every T500 includes an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, with available clock speeds ranging from 2.0 GHz to 2.93 GHz. Lenovo installs 256 MB to 4 GB of memory into the laptop. Despite the configuration differences, every T500 uses the same basic design. They all include a battery, a power cord and a version of the Windows operating system.

  1. Installing the Battery

    • 1

Turn off the laptop and unplug it from the wall.

    • 3

Slide the battery cover lock to the right to disengage it. Raise the battery cover.

    • 4

Insert the battery into the battery compartment. Orient the battery so that its electrical contacts face in the same direction as those within the battery compartment. Press the battery firmly into the compartment and close the battery cover. Slide the battery cover lock to the left to reengage it.

    Setting Up the Laptop

Plug the power cord into the AC adapter. Plug the AC adapter into the power input on the back of the laptop. Plug the other end of the power cord into an electrical outlet.

    Operating the Laptop

    • 8

Place your finger on the touchpad located below the keyboard. Slide your finger on the touchpad up, down, left, right and diagonally to move the Windows mouse cursor. The two buttons beneath the touchpad function like the left and right buttons on a standard mouse.
