How to Repair the Acer 1716 LCD Monitor

If you've been having problems with your Acer 1716 computer monitor, such as horizontal lines or a solid white screen, you may want to check the internal connections. This can be done by opening up the monitor and taking a look at the screen itself. The process doesn't require many tools and can be completed in a limited amount of time.

Things You'll Need

• Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

1. Turn off your Acer monitor and unplug the power cable as well as the cables connecting it to your computer.

2. Place the monitor face-down and remove all screws from the back panel of the unit, as well as the screws connecting the monitor stand to the unit.

3. Remove the monitor stand and set it aside. Remove the back panel and set it aside. The main circuit board will now be visible in the monitor housing.

4. Locate the thick screen cable that connects to a port on the motherboard. Check the connection to make sure it is secure -- if it isn't secure, unplug it and plug it back into the port.

5. Fit the back panel over the unit and replace the screws as well as the monitor stand.
