Instructions for a 2005 GMC Truck Radio
If you are a new owner of a 2005 GMC truck, you may have some questions about the truck's feature-rich radio, particularly if you are used to operating a basic radio. Standard functions, such as adjusting the volume and inserting a compact disc, are fairly self-explanatory, but there are a few other things you can do with the radio that may come in handy, such as setting your favorite stations as presets or changing the time.

Adjusting the Audio Settings
-
1
Press the knob marked "Audio" on the right side of the GMC truck's radio. This will bring you to the audio menu and lets you toggle through the available options. The first option is "Bass."
-
2
Turn the "Audio" knob to the right to increase the bass level and turn it to the left to decrease the bass level. Push the "Audio" knob to move on to the "Treble" setting.
-
-
3
Rotate the "Audio" knob to the right to increase the treble; turn it to the left to decrease the treble. Push "Audio" to move on to the "Balance" setting.
-
4
Turn the "Audio" knob to the right or left to adjust the speaker balance. Moving it to the left concentrates the sound to the left side speakers while moving it to the right concentrates the sound to the right side speakers.
Saving Preset Radio Stations
-
5
Press the "Band" button to select the radio band for preset radio stations. You can choose FM1, FM2, AM, XM1 or XM2 (if equipped with satellite radio).
-
6
Turn the "Tune" knob on the left side of the radio to tune into the first station you want to save.
-
7
Press and hold the button labeled "1." This saves the station to your first preset. Repeat the process for all six preset buttons if desired. You can also repeat it for multiple bands. Pushing the saved preset button for the selected band immediately brings you to the saved station.
Setting the Time
-
8
Locate the "HR" and "MN" buttons. On some 2005 GMC truck radios, these buttons are in the bottom left-hand corner of the radio. On others, they are at the top left-hand corner of the radio.
-
9
Push and hold the "MN" button. As you hold the button, you'll notice the minute digits change. Release the button when they are correct.
-
10
Press and hold the "HR" button to adjust the hour digits. Release the button when they are correct.
-
11
Use the RDS (Radio Data Systems) feature if your GMC truck's radio is so equipped. Tune into any FM station. Push and hold "HR" and "MN" at the same time. The radio will receive the time broadcast by the station, and the clock will automatically change.
