How to Make a Sulfide Paperweight
While paperweights can be made out of plethora of different materials, the most common material is glass. This glass can be enhanced by adding sulfide to it. Adding sulfide to glass means adding a medallion or scent or anything else to a paperweight other than the glass. These paperweights can be used to weigh down paper or as decorations and there are people all over the world who collect paperweights. Paperweights are hard to make, but if you have experience in glass making, it is possible to make these paperweights.

Shape the glass paperweight in the desired shape and size. You can shape the glass paperweight while the molten glass is still warm.

Reheat the glass before placing it in sulfide.

Place the sulfide on the gather. The gather is the mass of molten glass that is attached to the iron rod, or punty, used in glass making for handling hot glass.

Remove the weight from the rod.
