How to complete a Brain Tree quest on Neopets
Neopets is a popular online website where players, or Neopians, can earn rewards by completing quests. Successfully completing a quest can earn players special items or in-game money, known as Neopoints. One of the most popular quests in Neopets is the Brain Tree, where you supply the haunted brain tree with information in exchange for prizes.

Log onto Neopets as usual. Click the "Explore" button on the top toolbar. You will be taken to a map of Neopia. Click the imagine of the haunted woods on the map, or scroll down to the location index and select "Haunted Woods."

Click on the "Esophagor" once you arrive at the haunted woods. The Esophagor is a haunted blue rock identified by a small sign reading his name. The Esophagor will tell you he's hungry and wants to be fed.

Press the button below the Esophagor's picture that says, "Sure, I will find you food." He will ask you to bring him one or more items, generally haunted foods. Write down the names of these items. A time limit for bringing the food will also be set. The time limit is generally around 2 hours, so there is no need to rush.

Hold your cursor above the "Shop" button on the top toolbar. A menu will appear. Select "Shop Wizard" from the menu.

Enter the names of the items the Esophagor asked you to find into the Shop Wizard's database. The Shop Wizard will show you the cheapest prices the items are available at. If the items sell for less than 6,000 neopoints combined, buy them. The Brain Tree rarely gives rewards worth more than 6,000 neopoints, so spend more than that at your own risk.
If the items are too expensive, wait for the quest's time limit to expire. Then ask the Esophagor for a new assignment and start over.

Return to the Haunted Woods once you have all the Esopahgor's items. Do not return to the Esophagor. Click on the Brain Tree. The Brain Tree looks like a haunted oak with a pulsating brain. Click the "Accept Quest" button below the Brain Tree. The Brain Tree will ask for the day and location of a specific neopet's death. A time limit will be appear.

Return to the Esophagor. Give him the food you bought. He will give you either the date or location the Brain Tree asked for. To receive the second piece of information, complete the Esophagor's food quest one more time.

Return to the Brain Tree once you've completed the Esophagor's quest a second time. Enter the data and press "Submit Answer." The Brain Tree will give you a reward for completing his quest.

Tips & Warnings
Always be sure to have an active, do-able quest from the Esophagor before you accept the Brain Tree's mission. This guarantees you'll be able to answer at least one of the tree's questions. Remember, you can only ask the Brain Tree for one quest a day, but can have multiple Esophagor quests.
Reward are random, so never spend more on a quest than you're willing to lose in case your prize is a small one.
The answers to the Brain Tree's riddles are randomly generated from an extensive database. Guessing is generally futile, as are attempts to compile databases of answers.
